How to SEO Optimized a blog post in 2020
Ladies and Gentlemen welcome back to another Blog, in
today's blog I'm going to writing to you about how to SEO optimized a blog post
and this is an easy process to follow that works in about 15 minutes now look
this is going to be a nitty-gritty video meaning I'm going to show you within
WordPress within my website and I'm going to rank a keyword live here on
YouTube and I'm gonna show you the whole process behind it all the little ninja
tricks that we use in our agency to rank client keywords to rank other types of
keywords.
So let's get right into it now what I want to tell you is
the standard SEO blog guidelines look you need 500 plus words of helpful
content the reason why I say helpful and not in-depth and not this crazy type
of content is because Google's new algorithm is really looking for content that
people come onto your website and they leave your website with a newfound
knowledge on something that whatever they came to your website for now we're
gonna want to add three images we're gonna want as many images as possible and
the reason why I say this is that the more images that you can add into your
content the longer a user is going to retain on your post a recent study by
Brian Dean's showed that about97% of people will bounce off of your website if
there are not images that are helpful to the user on the page okay and then
we're gonna also show you the nitty-gritty stuff adding keywords into your
header tags adding keywords into your meta tags and using a good keyword density
and also using what I like to call LS size which is basically a synonym of our
target keyword and we're also gonna use yoast SEO and WordPress to make sure
that we're doing this correctly now going forward I want you to understand that
whenever you're writing a piece of content whenever you're writing a blog post
whenever you're writing articles online for a client wherever you're doing
guest posting your target should be around one keyword as long as you can focus
in on one keyword target for that page you are going to absolutely dominate the
search engine rankings now this does not mean that that one page isn't gonna
rank for multiple keywords it's gonna rank for multiple keywords but we want to
make sure that we're targeting one keyword because if we can do that we have a
much higher chance for ranking for that one target keyword now all you got to
do for this example is watch so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna target the
keyword YouTube sponsor button
I've written a post before about YouTube on my
website so this should not be hard for me to rank but basically I want to rank
in Google for the keyword YouTube sponsor button and I'm gonna show you some
pretty advanced strategies within this video on how to write a blog post that
will actually rank for this term because if I can rank for this term. I could
potentially get people on an email list I can potentially convert those people
which will be another blog in the future series and get them to purchase
whatever it is that I'm selling so let's start by doing this we need to perform
research now you can user search tools I personally like to u sea h reps they
have an awesome options for keywords Explorer up at the top but if you don't
have access to H reps you can use something like uber suggests you can use
something like Google Keyword planner but the goal here is to realize how much
search traffic there is for this keyword and how much competition that there is
right as you can see the keyword difficulty for this term is zero and primarily
the reason being is because this is a very easy to keyword to rank for because
nobody is currently creating content about the sponsor button as it is so brand
new this is probably one of my favorite parts about SEO is you can guesstimate
search traffic through the future by just ranking for stuff that is currently potentially
building up right now so when I look at this keyword information.
I want to show you what's going on in my head so it looks
like the search volume is a pretty decent term to rank for it's800 search
volume so that means people are searching at 800 times within Google month over
a month that number usually is inaccurate there's probably more people
searching it but more importantly when you look down you have keyword ideas now
these keyword ideas are super important and I'm gonna show you why these
keyword ideas are super important because most of the times these keyword ideas
are actual LSI's so these are synonyms so basically what I want to do is I want
to make sure that I'm writing down these keyword ideas because I wantto include
these keyword ideas into my content because if you include these keywords ideas
into your content guess what else you're gonna rank for you're gonna rank for
these other keywords so I'm gonna go ahead and putthese keywords into a list
and once I'm done doing that I'm gonna show you how I'm gonna build a wordpress
page to just rank for this term all righty ladies and gentlemen so what I've
done here is I've identified and this is an order from most traffic to least
amount of traffic I've identified five keywords that I want to basse my blog
around okay so I'm gonna show you exactly how I do this in just asecond so now
that I'm gonna move this over to the left and I kind of understand exactly the
keywords.
I'm targeting here I'm gonna go ahead and move this word document
like this and just make sure that it's still visible to my eyeand when doing so
I'm gonna go ahead andlogin to my agency website okay so I'm gonna go to WP
dash admin I'm gonna goto my WordPress I highly recommend that when you're
building out blogs and whenyou're building your website you use WordPress
because it really is genuinely gonna make your life just a lot easier so I'm in
the backend of my wordpressright now and what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna click
on posts and I'm gonna clickon add new post now immediately when you click on
add new post you want to make sure that you're targeting just one term.
okay so
I'm going to show you how to dothat and I highly recommend you downloada
plug-in called Yoast SEO which ispretty standard but here's what we need to do
so right here we're gonna havethis fresh page where we can add as much content
as we want but we want to makesure that our target keyword is in sightso
YouTube's sponsor button okay that's the target keyword we are going totarget
for this content so now Yoast SEO is gonna give us an SEO score here andit needs
improvement so if you're brandnew to SEO you can in fact just go down here and
fix all of these problems andyou're going to have a good SEO but ourgoal is to
actually do that as well as use our brain on how this is going towork because
Yoast SEO does not takeinto consideration user behavior so oneof the most
important parts of the SEOprocess is your title now your Yoast SEOallows you to
edit your snippet and youcan actually edit your title here's agood rule to go
by you want to make surethat your keyword is as far left aspossible okay and
being so you want usto want to make sure that it's not overoptimized so I can't
do this if I dothis I'm not going to rank in Google Imay rank but it may be on
the sixth orseventh page instead what you want to dois you want to have a very
natural approach but you also want to have thiskeyword in here so my gut my
guess wouldbe how to get the youtuber subscribe button on your channel okay this
is a great title because not only is it informing the user what they're going
toget outthis blog post but it's also tellingGoogle that you are approaching thisblog
post in a very natural approach soby naming your title this we're doing afew
things one is we're maximizing foroptimization and conversion we aretrying to
get people to click our titlebecause if our website gets more clicksthan the
website above us we were goingto actually rank higher than thatwebsite right so

do somethingthat entices the user to get on heresuch as guide write or let's
say full guide you are now giving the user areason to click on to your channel
or toyour website including this little full guide into here will help the
user understand that this may be the only place that they have to go in order

metadescription you simply want to write outa brief overview of what your post
isabout so as you can see here when Iwrote out my meta description I just made
sure that the keyword was in themeta and as long as you can guaranteethat the
keyword is in the meta and itlooks very natural you're going to rankfor that
term so now let's go up andlet's look at the content one of thefirst things
that I like to do is I like to make sure that my title has the keyword in it and
you don't have to dothis but this is just what I like to doI like putting
YouTube's sponsor buttonand then doing something like completeguide up here now
keep in mind that whenyou add in this title into WordPressit's going to give
you a URL stringbecause of work because we're trying torank for YouTube sponsor
button we wantto make sure that our URL string is justthat term in fact the
shorter your URLstring the higher likely it is that youare going to rank for
that term why wellGoogle doesn't want you to cannibalizeyour keywords and they
also want you torank higher for the terms to make itlook very natural it's more
likely thatsomeone will click on this link then alink that's very long with a
bunch ofdifferent types of terms so now let's godown so we understand that
every SEOprocess has to have a heading 1 tag ifyou're not familiar with what a
heading1 tag is basically when you click ontexts you'll see h1 h1 that's a
headingone tag so you want to make sure thatthis is a very big tag on the
websiteand it also includes the keyword that weare trying to rank for very
naturallyokay so you want to do how to you knowyou may want to title this you
want totitle this strategically and you want tosandwich in your keywords into
thistitle so now that you've named yourtitle you want to make sure that
thekeyword is just sandwich in there and itlooks very very natural okay so the
nextthing that you're gonna want to do isyou're going to want to write
somecontent typically what I like doing hereis I like to hook the user within
thefirst two sentences and if you want tohook the user you want to use
thingsthat will benefit them after they'vevisited this page so if you're talkingabout
how to get this YouTube sponsoredby and maybe inform the user thatthey're going
to leave this blog post bygetting concrete information on how toget this
YouTube sponsored button out tothis channel so now that I've reallywritten the
hook you want to make surethat a few things are happening hereokay one is that
you're mentioning yourkeyword if you're not mentioning yourkeyword people are
not really going tocontinue to read because if you keepmentioning the keyword
you're trying totarget it's going to look very naturaland help the people of
YouTube or Googleunderstand what it is you're trying totalk about so I did this
in a few waysI asked them a question first I got intoa little bit of the beef
and then Iactually went into this new sponsoroptions okay and then I told them
thatin this post they're going to learnabout the YouTube sponsor button so
theycan work towards getting it on theirchannel so this is a great
introductionand generally this should be about 100words our word count here is
at about100 so that's a really good start so nowwhat I want to do is I want to
get intothe depth of content so the user righthere maybe think okay great
here's the introduction.

trust to myblogpost right and then what I'm gonnado is I'm gonna space and I'm
just gonnaclick on add media and when I do thisI'm just gonna go right ahead
and addthe media that I'm talking about whichis this right herenow it's also
very important to makesure that you want to target your termand make sure it's
your file name rightso what is a YouTube sponsor buying thisis a quitting
pretty quick tip righthere if you just add it as your filename and open it your
website will justupload to that blog post and then youare going to be able to
quickly add thisin here and once it's uploaded and onceit's in your website I'm
gonna show youexactly what to do once it's in there sonow that this is

basically what we're doingis we're adding content then we'readding these images

about our postwhen we are finished so I'm gonna writea little more text
regarding about whatthe actual sponsor button is and thenwe'll get into moving
forward with thisblock so now we've really added in somecontent meaning we've
added in a fewparagraphs we've added in a fewsentences and we've actually
shownexamples of what we're talking about nowwhen you do this google is really
gonnalike it because people are going toactually read your posts and see
thatit's just not this big chunk ofinformation and they're gonna stick onyour
post and when Google sees that gooduser experience you're actually gonnarank

things so here's what the is watch time so I'm gonna go aheadand add that into
here just so Googlestart seeing the relevance of my blogposts okay and you want
to go ahead andjust keep going down and seeing ifthere's anything else that you
canreference to right now I've got a fewlinks going out so I shouldn't have
aproblem ranking this blog one last thingthat you're gonna want to do is
you'regonna want to make sure that you have animage talking about to your blog
soright here where you can see setfeatured image you want to make sure youset a
featured image the best place todo this is if you go to google and youtype in
WordPress featured image sizeyou're actually gonna figure out whatthe actual
image size is so when I go tocanva.com which is a great tool to useif you're
doing any type of bloggingbecause they it quickly allows you tocreate custom
graphics you're gonna beable to take the image size so let's say1048 x 800
you're gonna be able to takethe image size and make a custom imagebased on what
you want to size out sonow that we're gonna have here this isthe size of our
blog so since we'retalking about YouTube I might want toadd a YouTube play
button and then Ialso might want to include thesesponsored buttons so I've
alreadyuploaded the sponsored button previouslylet me just find out where it is
here itis you know I might want to add this asan image and then my background
you justwant to make something that looks prettynice so I'm not a graphic
designer Idon't claim to be one but I'm notterrible at making these arts
andgraphics okay so let's say we use thatand let's just say we used this
textdown here I'm gonna use this bareorganics ones that ones look really
niceand then what I'm gonna do is I'mliterally just going to I'm gonnaungroup
this I'm gonna take this out ofhere I'm gonna delete this and I'm justgonna
create a custom graphic here forthe users that land on this page tounderstand
what it is I'm talking aboutright and then I'm just gonna do
YouTubesponsorbutton question mark and then how to getit what is itokay that's
what I'm gonna do and I'mgonna space this out so it looks goodonce I space this
out I'm gonna go aheadand make this size something a littlebigger that looks
more enticing topeople and then what I'm also going todo is drag it down just a
little bitjust to make sure and I'm gonna alsogonna do one last step I'm going
toclick this little element section hereI'm gonna click the little square
andthen what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna puta little square behind my actual
textand I'm gonna show you why in a secondonce I do that I can click on
thislittle white here and once I do that I'mgonna go like that and I'm gonna
arrangeit back so it actually shows my text alittle more vibrant right you just
wantto increase the transparency of yourtext here so this looks a lot

that'sgreat now when you're doing this youwant to keep note of your target
keywordwhich is YouTube's sponsor vine so whatI'm gonna do is I'm actually
gonna namethis file YouTube spawn soar button sowhen I download it I don't have

recommendusing a PNG file or a JPEG it doesn'treally matter as long as you can
uploadit within WordPress and that is gonnaactually download to my computer now
andit's gonna be ready for me to use as mytemplate so when I go to my actual
pageI'm gonna go to right here where it saysset featured image I'm gonna click
onset featured image I'm gonna upload thefile that I just created in canva
andit's going to allow me to create aperfectly sized image where if
somebodygoes to my blog they're actually gonnabe able to see this image rather
thanjust a huge blog of text because thelast thing you want to do is turn
offyour user if you turn off the user andthey click off of your website
you'regonna have a hard time ranking in Googleit doesn't matter how much youmanipulate
it in 2018 you cannotmanipulate Google's SEO with these blogposts you can't use
the pp ends youcan't do any of that to manipulate itit's all based on user
experience nowwhen I go ahead and upload this file I'mgonna change the alt tag
to what I wanted it to be for which is YouTube's sponsor buyingthat's what I
named a file tag I'm alsogonna name that the alt tag because it'salready copy
and pasted into my browserso let that load for a little bit and then we'll get
back to the content oops it's loaded nevermind so I'm gonna go toalt text boom

video I'm not going todo that there it goes looks good thelast thing I'm gonna
do is I'm going topreview this and make sure that this looks goodso when I
preview this post I want to make sure that it's reading properly itsspaced
properly and it has the rightattributes for a good user experience solooks
really really good at the topgreat image there we go there we gothere we go so
sometimes this happens inWordPress you just got to space this back but overall
it looks amazing itlooks simple simple to read easy to useand it looks like the
user when theycome back to this they're going to have an easy time sharing this
or they'regoing to find this very helpful right so once you fix your little
spaces what youcan then do is you can publish this post and start getting more
rankings now whenyou go ahead and publish the post you'reactually gonna be able
to view the postin WordPress and it's going to help youkind of understand so
once I published this post what I'm now going to do isI'm now going to make sure
that it'spublished I'm now going to visit the blog of my website and just make
surethat this blog is performing as to whereit should be so now that it's publishedI'm
gonna go ahead and click blog andonce I'm in blog you'll see right there that
this post is completed and it looksamazing on the block you see it righthere
